From news features to fun snippets on where to shop, The Mirror Magazine is your source for everything LGBT. Every two months, it was my task to fill what ranged from 68 to 132 glossy pages with both design and advertisement layout. This was one of my favorite freelance gigs, as it allows for endless creativity.

South Florida Gay News has been the leading source of news for LGBT residents and guests alike on the sunny shores of South Florida. As Art Director for 8 years, it was my job to balance aesthetic with compromise on a weekly basis to create a product that was clean, fresh, appealing, and practical.
Advertisements
Perhaps you've experienced the difficulty of creating advertisements that showcase your business's strengths. With a little teamwork, a good designer can give your business the nudge it needs. I've had many opportunities to step in and create ads when needed.
beyond the newsroom
When you really get going in the design industry, word travels fast. As such, I've found myself with countless strange but exciting one-off tasks to test and grow my design abilities... including everything from coupons to museum exhibit posters, and even the flag banners hanging from the light poles at a Pride parade.
